A Framework for Understanding Web Publishing Applications
نویسنده
چکیده
We address in this paper the reverse engineering issue in the Web applications. The maintenance process of this kind of applications is often hardly performed due to the lack of documentation. In most cases, the documentation associated to the Web application does not exist or rarely complete and up-to-date. We aim to present a solution which describes the structure of Web application in order to gain their better understanding and so facilitate their maintenance. We describe a method to infer Web publishing programs, specifically defined as database-driven programs producing dynamic documents. We address a typical reverse engineering situation where the program is a “black box” that takes a database instance (the input) and produces a dynamic document (the output). Our method attempts to understand and describe the program.

متن کاملHypertext Semantics for Web Applications
Web applications integrate dynamic pages for publishing data, functions for content management, and generic business services. To support the model-driven design and automatic generation of Web applications, an extended notion of hypertext is required, whose semantics is scarcely investigated. In this paper, we analyse and classify the semantic problems encountered in the computation of Web pag...
متن کاملA Stage-Activity Process Model Facilitating Workflow Management for Web Publishing
In this paper we describe workflow analysis f o r web publishing based on a general stage-activity process model. Using a case study approach, existing web publishing methods used by major Hong Kong ICP companies have been evaluated, Based on the evaluation results and our observations, issues and problems of the existing methods are identified. A general process model, called the stage-activit...
متن کاملWeaving the Pedantic Web
Over a decade after RDF has been published as a W3C recommendation, publishing open and machine-readable content on the Web has recently received a lot more attention, including from corporate and governmental bodies; notably thanks to the Linked Open Data community, there now exists a rich vein of heterogeneous RDF data published on the Web (the so-called \Web of Data") accessible to all. Howe...
متن کاملDesign and Evaluation of a Method for Partitioning and Offloading Web-based Applications in Mobile Systems with Bandwidth Constraints
Computation offloading is known to be among the effective solutions of running heavy applications on smart mobile devices. However, irregular changes of a mobile data rate have direct impacts on code partitioning when offloading is in progress. It is believed that once a rate-adaptive partitioning performed, the replication of such substantial processes due to bandwidth fluctuation can be avoid...
